LeBron James was out for the Lakers due to ankle pαin. They were traveling in opposition to the perilous Bucks. They started the first quarter behind by as many as 19 points, coming out cold. With roughly eight minutes left, the Bucks had answered every run they had made in the first three quarters, leaving them down 19 points.

However, the Lakers would not give up, going on a stunning 27-9 rally that unexpectedly forced OT.

Eventually, thankfully, the Lakers shut out the Bucks in the second overtime, although both sides appeared quite exhausted.

For Los Angeles, D’Angelo Russell (29 points, 12 assists), Austin Reaves (29 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists), and Nikola Mirotic (four blocks, 29 points) put on outstanding performances in 52 minutes.

The Bucks were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo (29 points, 21 rebounds, 11 assists), while Damian Lillard finished with 27 points and eight assists but only made 9 of his 29 field goals.

The Lakers (40-32) have now tied a season-high winning run with four straight victories. The Bucks (46-26) lost their last two games to end their winning run.

The Lakers’ performance wasn’t looking good following an especially poor first half. They were just 1 of 13 from three at the half, behind by 16 points. How badly they began cannot be overstated.

A terrible shooting performance (42 of 108 from the field, 38.9 percent) and problems with turnovers (17) almost put an end to the Lakers. They had trouble closing quarters; in the second and third, they came near, but then they gave up large runs.

They responded with a standout defensive effort led by AD, and they never gave up even in the face of several significant deficits.

Without LeBron, no one would have blamed the Lakers for dropping this game, especially considering that they were playing a title contender on the road and had dug themselves a big hole. However, the Lakers, who have had difficulty staying consistent throughout the season, are s𝔲ddenl𝓎 looking like a deadly foe, particularly if they play with the same defensive fervor and energy as they did on Tuesday.
