On a shooting poor night, Stephen Curry made the game’s final two baskets, and the Golden State Warriors overcame Draymond Green’s early expulsion to defeat the Orlando Magic 101-93 on Wednesday. Andrew Wiggins scored 23 points in the victory.
Green was ejected at 3:36 of the game for arguing a foul call against Wiggins. Green missed 16 games following his NBA suspension in December. Green had been ejected four times this season.
With 1:09 remaining, Curry converted a driving hook shot to make it 98-93. 34 seconds later, he added a 3-pointer to seal the victory. He finished with 17 points, making 6 of 18 field goals, and 10 assists.
With 26 points and 8 rebounds, Cole Anthony took the lead for Orlando. Paolo Banchero finished with eight rebounds and 15 points. With 2:41 remaining, Anthony’s turnaround jumper got the Magic within one point.
Currently ranked tenth in the Western Conference, the Warriors triumphed for the twentieth time in thirty-five away games. 18–19 years old at home.
Although it was Orlando’s last field goal of the half, Banchero scored on the play. The Magic trailed 27-11 after shooting 3 for 22 in the opening quarter.
The third quarter was halfway over, and the Warriors were up 17 points. Anthony’s two 3-pointers, a st𝖊al in the backcourt, and a layup put the Magic back in the game.
Franz Wagner’s layup with 6:40 remaining made it 82-80.
Due to a painful left knee, forward Jonathan Kuminga did not play for the Warriors. This was his first absence from a game since October 30.
With 3,000 points, 900 rebounds, and 600 assists in his first two seasons, Banchero joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Sidney Wicks, Larry Bird, Larry Johnson, Luka Doncic, Grant Hill, and LeBron James as the eighth NBA player in the last 60 years to achieve this feat.
