The Golden State Warriors defeated the Charlotte Hornets 115-97, with Stephen Curry scoring 23 points. With 20 and 18 points, respectively, Andrew Wiggins and Trayce Jackson-Davis contributed, and Chris Paul chipped in with 11 points and nine assists.
On Friday night, Stephen Curry made a victorious return to his hometown by leading the Golden State Warriors to a decisive 115-97 victory over the Charlotte Hornets.
With a game-high 23 points, Curry—the pride of Charlotte—wowed the home fans and demonstrated his scoring skills. Trayce Jackson-Davis scored eighteen points, while Andrew Wiggins added twenty. His teammates provided him with plenty of support.
With 15 points, Moses Moody had a big influence off the bench as well.
The other North Carolinian, Chris Paul, contributed 11 points and a game-high nine assists to help the Warriors’ 𝔬ffensive cause.
Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 22 points, but Charlotte was unable to win back-to-back games for the first time in more than a month, despite Bridges’ impressive effort. After scoring 14 points in the first half, Davis Bertans was held scoreless in the second half. For the Hornets, Nick Richards, Grant Williams, and Brandon Miller all contributed 12 points apiece.
With an astounding 53.9 percent shooting percentage from the field, Golden State controlled both ends of the court. Curry drove the team’s offense with his effective 9-for-18 shooting, which included four 3-pointers. Charlotte, on the other hand, had trouble making shots; they only shot 40.5 percent from the field and only 26.1% of their tries from beyond the arc were successful.
In the paint, where Jackson-Davis made an impact with eight rebounds overall—four of which came from the 𝔬ffensive glass—and three blocked shots, the Warriors continued to dominate.
In the third quarter, Golden State established a dominating lead by outscoring the Hornets 39–24. Five straight baskets by Curry started an 11-0 run, and late in the third quarter, Moody’s four-point basket increased the lead to 87-69.
The Warriors easily won their third straight road game, extending their winning streak to three games overall, even without Klay Thompson, who was out with a painful right knee.
