The Warriors bҽat the Jazz 118–110 while Stephen Curry rests and Klay Thompson gets 32 points

The Utah Jazz lost to the Golden State Warriors 118–110 on Sunday night. Klay Thompson scored 32 points, and the Warriors got ahead early.

Prior to the game, Houston’s 147–136 overtime loss to Dallas guaranteed the Warriors a spot in the four-team play-in playoffs.

Thompson came out looking for his shot from the start of the game because Stephen Curry was resting and Chris Paul was starting in his place. Thompson would score most of the points that night.

Steve Kerr used his 26th different starting group of the season. After the break, Curry had a few days off before playing again. Not since 2016–17 has he played in as many games as he has already—71.

“This is the most games he’s played in a long time,” coach Steve Kerr said of the two-time MVP, who is 36 years old. The information will help him next week.

The Jazz’s tenth straight loss and fifteenth in 16 games were led by Johnny Juzang’s career-high 27 points and seven three-pointers. A win at Golden State hasn’t happened since February 9, 2022. I added 25 points from Keyonte George.

Thompson hit 12 of 23 shots and six 3-pointers, and by halftime he had 25 points. It was his best scoring half of the season and the first time since March 13, 2023, that he scored 33 points in the first two quarters.

Thompson made four of his first ten three-point shots, and Golden State made 8 of 12 in the first quarter to take a 41-28 lead. It was the third time in the game that the Warriors scored 40 or more points in the first quarter.

After missing six games because of tendonitis in both knees, Jonathan Kuminga came off the bench and scored 21 points and grabbed 10 boards in his sixth straight 20-point game as a reserve. That was the same number of games as Sarunas Marciulionis for the Warriors since players started being kept track of in 1977–78.

Brandin Podziemski finished with 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, which is second among rookies. It was his 17th game with at least 10 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

Also, forward Andrew Wiggins couldn’t play for the Warriors for the second game in a row because his left ankle hurt.

All three games between Golden State and the Jazz this season have been wins for the Warriors, making it four straight wins. The teams will play one last game next Sunday at Chase Center to end the regular season.
