It may be time for Los Angeles Lakers supporters to breathe after learning of Anthony Davis’ most recent injury on Sunday.

After just 12 minutes of play at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, Davis left the Minnesota Timberwolves game.

With twenty-five seconds remaining in the first quarter, Davis used a putback slam to put the Lakers ahead 35–30. Davis’ left eye injury worsened when Timberwolves forward Kyle Anderson struck him by mistake as he stood up to deliver a slam. Davis was declared out of the game for the remainder of the play, and no foul was called on the play.

Davis may not be sidelined for very long, if at all, due to his eye problem. There is reportedly hope that the big man for the Lakers would suit up for his squad when they play the Golden State Warriors next.

During the previous Lakers-Warriors game last month, Davis got a corneal abrasion. Davis disclosed all the unpleasant details of his eye problem.

Davis missed no games in the first instance despite the horrific injury.

With three games remaining in the season, Davis is just one game short of his career high of 74 games played. Throughout the season, the star player for the Lakers has had a few bumps and bruises. However, Davis played through most of his minor setbacks, driven to overcome his reputation as an injury prone player.

It’s possible that Davis fell short of his ambitious preseason target. But contrary to what most of his detractors undoubtedly thought, he’s come a lot closer.
