It took Palmer only 16 minutes, from 13 to 29, to score 3 goals against Everton in the latest match of round 33 of the Premier League. This helped the former Man City star break three records at Chelsea.
First, Palmer became the first Chelsea player to score in 7 consecutive Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge. The old record was 6 matches, set by Eidur Gudjohnsen in 2002 and equaled by Didier Drogba in 2007.
Second, Palmer became the first Chelsea player to score more than 20 goals in all competitions since Eden Hazard in the 2018/19 season.
Third, Palmer became the first Chelsea player since Diego Costa in the 2014/15 season to score more than 20 goals in all competitions in his first season with the club.
Finally, the 21-year-old midfielder is the first player to score two hat-tricks for Chelsea in the same Premier League season. Before the match with Everton, Palmer scored a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 4-3 victory over MU in round 31 of the Premier League on April 4.
In short, Palmer is a great signing that Chelsea recruited in the summer of 2023. So far, he has scored 23 goals and 13 assists in 38 appearances for the Blues in all competitions. In the Premier League alone, he has contributed to a total of 29 goals (20 goals + 9 assists) – more than any other player under 23 years old from Europe’s top 5 national leagues.
