Bayern Munich drew with Real Madrid, coach Tuchel criticized the Korean midfielder
After Bayern Munich was held to a 2-2 draw by Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals first leg on the morning of May 1, coach Thomas Tuchel criticized midfielder Kim Min Jae.
Speaking after the match at Allianz Arena (Germany), Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel said: “Kim Min Jae is not allowed to push too high like that. As a centre-back, he cannot do that. He was too greedy and made mistakes twice.”
In both of Bayern Munich’s goals against Real Madrid, midfielder Kim Min Jae made a mistake. In the 24th minute, the Korean defender rose too high and after receiving a pass from Kroos, Vinicius accelerated past Kim Min Jae before finishing past Manuel Neuer, opening the score for Real Madrid.

In the 82nd minute, Kim Min Jae committed an unnecessary foul on Rodrygo and Bayern Munich received a penalty. On the penalty spot, Vinicius continued to defeat Manuel Neuer, sealing a 2-2 draw in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg in Germany.
The European press also criticized Kim Min Jae’s performance against Real Madrid. AS (Spain) newspaper commented: “It’s not Beckenbauer, it’s Kim Min Jae. Mathijs de Ligt’s injury helped Kim Min Jae return, but the consequences were terrible.
The Korean defender ruined Bayern Munich’s good performance. The home team had control of the game, but Kim Min Jae’s mistakes ruined that, unlike the way the Munich people idolized the legendary Franz Beckenbauer.”

The British press also said that Kim Min Jae’s performance against Real Madrid was a disast€r. The Athletic commented: “He doesn’t have enough speed to keep up with Vinicius, an unforgettable day for Kim Min Jae.” Guardina Daily said that Kim Min Jae’s knockdown of Rodrygo in the 82nd minute was “clumsy and bad”.
Besides, Coach Tuchel also felt regretful when Bayern Munich could not get the third goal, after Leroy Sane and Harry Kane helped the “Gray Tigers” lead 2-1, before Vinicius decided the result was a 2- 2 in minute 83.
“This is what Real Madrid has done to many opponents and this time it is our turn to fall into this situation. The team that wins in the capital Madrid will have everything. Bayern Munich must forget the result, start again and take it with them.” confidence to go to the Bernabeu next week,” coach Tuchel confidently said before the return match on May 9.
