Man Utd really wants Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze. The Red Devils will have to compete with Tottenham in this deal.
The Red Devils are eager to boost the creativity and scoring ability of their squad in the summer transfer window. Last season, United scored just 57 goals in the Premier League – the lowest number in the top half of the table.
According to The Sun, United have identified Eze as a potential new recruit – after he scored 11 goals and 4 assists for Palace in the 2023-24 season. This talented 25-year-old player is currently in the England squad for Euro 2024.
Part of the problem for United is that activating the £60m release clause in Eze’s contract will not be easy. With Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules needing to be considered, United will need to sell players before spending money on purchases. In contrast, Spurs do not face a Profit and Sustainability (PSR) problem.
Currently, Tottenham are seen as the top priority, as they have a solid working relationship with Palace. However, United are ready to enter the race as Sir Jim Ratcliffe, former chairman of INEOS, has assured that funds will be made available to add to the squad and improve Manchester’s overall performance.
