Rodrygo’s Brilliance Overshadowed by Dorival’s Tactical Errors in Copa America Warmup Draw

Rodrygo excels, but Dorival uses ineffective tactics in the Copa America warm-up match.

Rodrygo of Real Madrid put on an attacking clinic to mask a lackluster performance by the Selecao.

Rodrygo demonstrated his effectiveness, but Brazil’s performance in a Copa America warm-up friendly against the USMNT was disappointing overall, ending in a 1-1 tie.

The Real Madrid player scored the sole goal for the Selecao, but his performance was lackluster overall, best summed up by the fact that Endrick was benched.

Early on, Yunus Musah of the USMNT had the best opportunity, hitting the crossbar in less than five minutes. The first goal was scored by Rodrygo, who fired into the bottom corner following a mistake in their defense.

However, Christian Pulisic’s free ƙick into the bottom corner of the net gave the USMNT a response. Brazil produced more following the interval. Rodrygo missed a wide bicycle ƙick. Endrick broke through on goal and came dangerously close to scoring seconds after he entered the game. Pulisic had a chance to make it 2-1, but his 10-yard shot was straight at the goalkeeper.
