What happened between Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Liverpool transfer reports
The friendship between Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham has been plain to see at Euro 2024 as the pair team up for England
Since they are both playing for England at Euro 2024, it has been clear that Trent Alexander-Arnold, vice-captain of Liverpool, and Jude Bellingham, famous player for Real Madrid, are friends.
Liverpool tried unsuccessfully last summer to get Jude Bellingham to sign with the Reds as his next team, but it looks like this dɾ𝔞m𝔞 hasn’t affected the growing friendship between the Real Madrid star and Trent Alexander Arnold.
Jurgen Klopp’s last season with Liverpool was marked by a lot of talk about signing the talented player from Borussia Dortmund. But in the end, the Santiago Bernabeu’s allure was too strong for the ex-Birmingham City academy graduate to refuse, and Valencia ended up signing him.
While playing for their country, Bellingham and Liverpool’s vice-captain became close and their friendship seems to be getting stronger all the time. The two started to become friends in public for the first time at the World Cup in Qatar in late 2022.
When rumors about the midfielder’s move to Anfield were at their highest, Alexander-Arnold was seen having fun with a teammate during the event. It started a lot of rumors when the Reds fan favorite shared the picture with the caption, “Stroll in the City with Bro @BellinghamJude.”
A couple of years later, Bellingham’s celebration after England bҽat Serbia also directly referenced an insider detail from the event in Qatar. The “wolf” gesture was a reference to a game that the Three Lions played in between training and games. Captain Harry Kane has said that 16 to 17 players played the game to “pass the time” during the last World Cup.
After scoring the only goal in England’s Group C match, the young Real Madrid player couldn’t help but point at Alexander-Arnold. While talking about the celebration he did with the Liverpool star, Bellingham said, “It came from a game we play called “Wolf,” and one of the staff members always holds his face that way when he doesn’t know what’s going on.”
“So it was more a celebration for the backroom staff who put in so much work every day and they won’t receive any awards like this [his man-of-the-match trophy] or get to have the moments we get to have on the pitch, but we value them so much and it’s important going through the tournament that we keep that atmosphere.”
They ended up playing 69 minutes together in Gelsenkirchen on Sunday night, helping their team win 1-0. Alexander-Arnold was then replaced in center by Conor Gallagher. Additionally, Bellingham was also subbed off by Gareth Southgate after 86 minutes, and Kobbie Mainoo was brought on to help secure the win.
Following their substitution, the two were seen sitting next to each other as they watched the game from the stands. Despite playing a part he wasn’t used to in the game, the Reds star impressed his teammate Bellingham, who went on and on about his countryman after the win.
The superstar player for Real Madrid said, “He makes it so easy for me because he can control the game so well defensively there.” A lot of people say stupiԃ things, but he’s so bold with that back-to-goal pressure, and it helped me because I could relax when he left the field.
“I think we understand each other well when it comes to the ball. He always wants to play positively and speedily.” With teammates like that, we know we’ll lose the ball sometimes, and that’s okay. It will be returned to us, and we will keep playing. He impressed me greatly.
Furthermore, Alexander-Arnold replied to the praise, saying, “It’s h𝔞rd on the body, but it helps to play with Declan Rice, Jude, and the others, and with an experienced back four behind you.” With Declan and Jude talking to you and helping you, you can’t go wrong.
With Bellingham’s famҽ skyrocketing after a great first season in Madrid in which he won the European Cup, England will be hoping he keeps up his great play at Euro 2023. Meanwhile, Alexander-Arnold continues to enjoy playing with the player for England, so Liverpool fans can forget about what might have been if the 20-year-old had chosen to move to Anfield last summer.
