Germany Clinches 2-0 Victory Over Hungary, Securing Spot in Euro 2024 Round of 16

Germany bҽat Hungary 2-0 on Wednesday to become the first team to make it to the round of 16 at Euro 2024. Jamal Musiala scored a controversial goal and Ilkay Gündogan scored the other goal in a 2-0 win.

Because of how things stand in Group C and Croatia’s draw with Albania yesterday, there will be at least two third-place teams that can’t catch Germany’s six points.

There were six groups, and the top two teams from each would be joined by the four best third-place teams in each group.

Germany’s 5-1 win over Scotland was the highlight of the first game of the event, and it wasn’t a surprise that Julian Nagelsmann kept the same starting lineup.

Hungary lost the first game 3-1 to Switzerland. They got off to a good start, but Germany scored the first goal in the middle of the first half.

Musiala scored his second goal of the game with a rocket after captain Gündogan did some great work.

They thought Gündogan had fouled someone in the box before he pulled the ball back, but a video review showed that the goal was legal.

Hungary kept making attacks, but Gündogan put an end to the game in the 67th minute by heading in a low cross from left back Maximilian Mittelstädt.

In his 17th Euro game, Manuel Neuer was kept busy. With this win, he tied Gianluigi Buffon for the most Euro games played by a goalie.

Another goal for Marco Rossi’s team was called off because the player wasn’t onside.
