The superstar, 39, was keen to break the record for the oldest player to score at the European Championship. But Ronaldo had an incredibly horrible fate.
Goalie Jan Oblak stopped Ronaldo’s penalty kš¦ck. The Portuguese attacker lost the opportunity and could not control his tears.
Cristiano Ronaldo broke a number of records in Euro 2024, including being the first player to compete in six championships and the player with the most assists. He hasn’t yet broken the record for the oldest player to score in the European Championship, though.
Portugal emerged victorious from the encounter, defeating Slovenia 3-0 on penalties and earning a trip to the Euro 2024 quarterfinals.
