Jhon Cordoba received a pass from a corner kš”¦ck on the right wing from James Rodriguez but his header missed the target

In the second half, Colombia continued to play very uncomfortably and created many difficulties for Brazil. In the 51st minute, Jhon Cordoba received a pass from a corner kš”¦ck on the right wing from James Rodriguez but his header missed the target.

Despite still having a slight advantage in ball control, Brazil continued to be closed in on their attacks. In the 59th minute, “Selecao” was awarded a free kš”¦ck from a distance of more than 20m slightly to the right wing. Unfortunately, Raphinha’s kš”¦ck went just wide of the post.

In the 84th minute, Colombia had a good chance to increase the score to 2-1 but Rafael Borre’s shot went over the crossbar from about 7 meters away and was unmarked.

In the short remaining time, both sides still created some dangerous situations towards each other’s goal but no more goals were scored. Therefore, the score of 1-1 remained until referee Jesus Valenzuela blew the whistle to end the 90 minutes of play.

This result means Brazil finished second in Group D and will face Uruguay in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Colombia finished first in the group and will face Panama.
