Jude Bellingham’s heartfelt connection with fans during his visit back to his cherished club

The race for that award will almost exclusively revolve around two Real Madrid teammates, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius. Bellingham is racing for La Liga’s top scorer with 19 goals, only 1 goal behind Artem Dovbyk (Girona), while Vinicius has 15 goals. Although Vinicius was recently mentioned as a candidate for the Golden Ball, in La Liga alone, Bellingham played better and more consistently from the beginning to the end of the season.

But the excitement of the Best Player award also lies in the other nominated candidates. Dovbyk is one of 10 candidates and he will compete with Antoine Griezmann (Atletico), Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona), Isco (Real Betis) for the 3rd place votes. Dobvyk’s teammate is midfielder Aleix Garcia was also nominated, along with striker Alexander Sorloth who scored 19 goals for Villarreal.

The remaining 2 nominations belong to Kirian Rodriguez, the striker who helped newly promoted team Las Palmas successfully survive relegation quite early, and Takefusa Kubo of Real Sociedad. Kubo with 7 goals & 3 assists in 28 matches was not only nominated for the Best Player in La Liga award but also for the Best Young Player award because he is 22 years old, in the U23 threshold.

Strangely enough, Bellingham is 2 years younger than Kubo but was not nominated for the Young Player award. Instead Kubo will face Lamine Yamal & Pau Cubarsi (with Barcelona), Nico Williams (Athletic Bilbao), Miguel Gutierrez, Couto & Savinho (with Girona), Javi Guerra (Valencia), Johnny (Real Betis) and Rodrygo (Real Madrid).
