England vs Netherlands goals: Spectacular comeback in extra time

The Euro 2024 semi-final between England and the Netherlands was an exciting match. After the opening whistle, the “Three Lions” took the initiative to a𝔱𝔱ack from the beginning, but they soon conceded a goal in the 7th minute. In a rare a𝔱𝔱ack by the Netherlands, Xavi Simons unleashed a powerful long-range shot from the 16m50 line, opening the score.

After the early goal, the Dutch team actively retreated to preserve their advantage. Meanwhile, the English team was forced to a𝔱𝔱ack and their efforts were rewarded in the 18th minute. Striker Harry Kane was fouled by Dumfries in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. The England team captain was the one who successfully kicked the 11m penalty.

In the following minutes, England organized a good a𝔱𝔱ack, creating some dangerous opportunities. In the 78th minute, Bukayo Saka scored a goal against the Netherlands, but the goal was not recognized because the person who passed the ball to him, Walker, was offside. When many people thought about the scenario of the two teams going into extra time, or even deciding the winner on penalties, then at exactly 90+1, substitute Ollie Watkins fired a classy shot from a narrow angle, raising the score to 2-1 for England. The remaining time was not enough for the Netherlands to organize an a𝔱tack, let alone find an equalizer.
