Jude Bellingham spends a lot of time showing respect to many people, even though some people think he is cocky and full of himself.

After the amazing win, Bellingham went around what looked like the whole Dutch team and hugged every single one of them before going to party with the England fans at Dortmund’s BVB Stadion.

After beating Switzerland in a shootout in the next round of Euro 2024, Bellingham waited by himself at the entrance to the player tunnel at Dusseldorf Stadium to comfort Manuel Akanji, whose missed penalty k𝔦ck was the game-winning k𝔦ck. They hugged each other, switched clothes, and then hugged again.

To say the least, Bellingham is sure of himself. Also, having a lot of faith in yourself is a big part of what it takes to be a real sports star.

The game against Holland on Wednesday night, though, made it clear that Bellingham is also an unselfish player and person. As the second half went on, the Dutch looked a little more dangerous, and the scores stayed tied. There were many calls on social media for Bellingham to be replaced.

Southgate made the right choice by taking Phil Foden out of the game instead of the player, because it was more fair and because of what was going to happen. Foden had been great for most of the game, but it’s important to remember that Bellingham also did his part.

Yes, his old friend Felix Zwayer gave him a yellow card for a hard tackle on Stefan de Vrij in the middle of the second half, but Bellingham played very disciplined from his position. He did a lot of the d𝔦rty work, mostly on the left side of the field, so Foden could move and a𝔱tack like only Foden can.

Bellingham wasn’t very impressive, and the French newspaper L’Equipe said he was England’s worst player. But Bellingham was okay with the fact that he wasn’t the main character that day. It was a selfless act from a big name in the movie business.

But it’s clear why Southgate doesn’t like to take Bellingham out of the game: the Real Madrid star likes to make big changes at the last minute. And since Bellingham is the face of La Liga, Sunday’s game against the Spanish seems like the kind of event he usually loves for writing scripts.
