Bellingham has found it challenging to forge connections with the majority of his England national team teammates

Jude Bellingham is a natural leader, but he can also be cocky: A bodყ language expert looks at the Euros of a controversial star… including how Cole Palmer reacted when he tried to comfort him

According to a bodყ language expert, Jude Bellingham has a “instinctive response to lead.” This is shown by the fact that he wanted to comfort his fellow England stars right away after their loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday.

After England’s sad 2-1 loss at the Olympiastadion, the Real Madrid star tried to help his teammates.

But some players on Gareth Southgate’s team, like Chelsea starlet Cole Palmer, didn’t seem ready to talk to Bellingham on the field at the end of the game.

Reports say that Bellingham hasn’t been able to get along with most of his Three Lions teammates since England’s loss at the Euros. His strong friendship with Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only exception.

Palmer’s response to Bellingham’s approach led to more rumors that Bellingham doesn’t play a big part in the England team, since the Chelsea player didn’t respond to Bellingham’s comforting hug.

Communication expert Judi James, on the other hand, thinks that the 21-year-old’s actions after the game and throughout the event make him look like a “natural leader.” She even suggests that Bellingham might want to become captain in the future.

James told Mail Sport exclusively, “Bellingham’s bodყ language can often make him look older than his years. He has natural leadership skills and charisma that would make him a great captain or even manager in the future.”

Being in charge seems to come naturally to him. In conversations, he is articulate, smart, and sure of himself, and he seems to think about the bigger picture instead of just focusing on himself.

“He showed that he wanted to inspire his teammates during the Euros, and then he showed a very mature desire to go around and comfort everyone after they lost to Spain in the final.”

Many of his teammates were lost in their own sadness, but Bellingham was always there to help them feel better.

Earlier in the tournament, Bellingham’s actions on the field were questioned after he was seen seemingly cupping his crotch in the direction of the Slovakia bench right after making the beautiful overhead Ҝick that won England the round of 16.

The tournament’s governing bodყ gave Bellingham a fine of €30,000 (£25,000) and a suspended one-game ban. He was able to continue his trip in Germany and play against Switzerland in England’s quarterfinal.

The player also caused a stir when he kicked a drinks cooler that was sitting on the sidelines after England lost on Sunday at full-time.

Later, Bellingham called the loss “cruel” and “heartbreaking.” In the immediate wake, she seemed to lose her cool.

James said this about Bellingham’s bodყ language: “Like any young star player, though, Bellingham’s bodყ language also displays arrogance, rebellion, and strong rituals of frustration when the team loses.”

“His celebrations caused a stir, and his first action after the Spain game was to Ҝick the drinks fridge to get rid of his anger. He then sat down alone to calm down and bring out his more mature and caring side.”

“His pride is a big part of how successful and brilliant he is on the field.” Over the years, stars like Ronaldo have worked on and loved this trait because it helps them avoid the kind of neg𝔞tive self-doubt that can ruin technique.

“All of the ear-cupping, macho win displays, etc. are what help a lot of star players keep their confidence rock solid.”

There may have been some pause in England’s dɾamatic final because of Bellingham’s meetings with Southgate. In the second half, Bellingham was said to have “lost it” with Southgate.

“He puts one hand on Palmer’s face and pushes his head close to Palmer’s as a sign of friendship,” James said. “So we could assume that Bellingham has no idea that something bad is about to happen.”

“Palmer looks blank and doesn’t react to the comforting touches. This could make it seem like he is being cold to Bellingham, but there is another way to look at it.”

Palmer scored the goal that would have won us the championship, so he may be hurting more than others from loss.

“Being “gutted” does cause this blankness where some players stare ahead in shocҜ while others sit on the ground and cry, so Bellingham might not be ignoring them personally. He also didn’t seem to notice when Dean Henderson tried to comfort him.
