Supporters of Manchester United think they will have a “monster” on their hands for the upcoming campaign.

It follows the viral success of a video featuring returning club veteran Ruud van Nistelrooy offering advice to Marcus Rashford.

Despite having managed PSV in the past, the Dutchman has rejoined Man Utd as part of Erik ten Hag’s backroom staff turnover.

Van Nistelrooy is no stranger to scoring goals, as the Red Devils supporters will attest to.

In 219 games for United, the 48-year-old scored 150 goals. Throughout his career, he also scored 64 goals for Real Madrid, 77 goals for PSV, 17 goals for Hamburg, 14 goals for Heerenveen, and five goals for Malaga.

And maybe, he can contribute to making Ten Hag’s young forward line more effective the following campaign.

The Dutchman will start working with 26-year-old Rashford as his primary striker. Rashford had a difficult season last year, scoring just eight goals in 43 outings.

He became the first Manchester United player to score 30 goals in a season since Robin van Persie the previous season, which stands in stark contrast to this.

Benni McCarthy, who departed the club this summer as part of the backroom reorganization, served as the mentor for this.

Ten Hag stated in March 2023 on McCarthy’s effect on Rashford: “Benni is doing a great job, but I thought we needed one on the staff who is specific and accountable for forwards.

“I believe that the staff works well together and maintains a healthy balance; it’s not just about Benni McCarthy; each member of the staff has a specialized role.

“There’s a good vibe, they challenge each other, it’s a total package, and it’s not about one person.”

The England forward, who did not qualify for Euro 2024, was observed conversing with Van Nistelrooy prior to Manchester United’s opening preseason match against Rosenborg.

Additionally, supporters expressed excitement about the potential effects of Van Nistelrooy’s coaching on the forward in the next campaign.

A supporter commented: “Marcus Rashford under Ruud Van Nistelrooy is going to be a different animal…”

“We’re going to unleash a monster next season,” a second person stated.

However, Ten Hag blasted the performance as “not good enough” after Man Utd lost that game 1-0.

Against the Norwegian club, who are in the middle of their regular season, Rashford played the whole first half.
