Euro 2024, Jude Bellingham was Unfairly Singled Out as a Scapegoat, While the Real Problem Resided with England

Jude Bellingham was blamed for everything that went wrong at Euro 2024, but England is really to blame.

Jude Bellingham had a great first season at Real Madrid, winning both the La Liga title and the Champions League. However, he was unable to lead England to victory at Euro 2024.

When I thought about Jude Bellingham’s European Championship, I thought of Wayne Rooney.

Jude Bellingham ɾҽmains a towering talent on the way up. Never should he ever allow anyone to drag him down

The England striker is said to have said, “The big man is back in town” when he returned to the team’s base in Germany after being hurt during the 2006 World Cup. Well-known people who were there at the time disagree with the famous former striker’s later denial.

Two years ago, English football loved how cocky Jose Mourinho was when he first arrived at Chelsea and called himself “The Special One.” Cole Palmer showed up at Chelsea and took responsibility for penalties before much more experienced players. Many fans and experts have praised his quiet confidence.

What’s wrong with Bellingham then? If the star player for Real Madrid, who has done amazing things with probably the toughest football club in the world, can’t bring his full confidence to the table for England, then something must be wrong with the Three Lions. Not him.

The players on the team who were chatting in the dark would have been better off talking to each other on the field. If they had done that, we might have won the Euros instead of giving up and beating Spain. Just an idea.

If there was a 21-year-old playmaker with gold plating and a lot of different skills, another country would protect him at all costs. He scored goals and set them, helping his team win the Champions League and the Spanish title in his first season. Real Madrid gets the most out of Bellingham because they have a plan, a habit of winning, and a way of making their parts work together as a whole.

It would have been better if Gareth Southgate had more time to figure out how to build his team around a natural winner, leader, and great speaker. As soon as Bellingham left for Dortmund four years ago, Birmingham took off his shirt number. This was seen as a bit hasty.

But the player himself has left a trail of praise from every team smart enough to know how to value what they had. It is completely cɾazy to question how useful he is to our national team. It’s picking a person to blame.

This is partly due to envy on the part of former players who may have won trophies but couldn’t even begin to match Bellingham’s natural ability. And how did he act? So he’s making demands. During the European Championship final, he yelled at the England bench to make a change.

Okay. We all did the same thing. It’s likely that the player will already have won more than the new England head coach, even though he is still young. That sounds good to me, so why not lean into it? What person wouldn’t want to make their job easy by using that competitive edge that our star-studded team needs?

Should Bellingham be one of the four People in Charge of the Three Lions? Of course. He is good at getting what he wants. He can handle things that are tough. He asked for Zinedine Zidane’s shirt at Madrid and kept telling them how worried people were that he couldn’t live up to the hype.

In any field, you need people who aren’t afraid to go against the grain and ask more of those in charge. It’s hard to understand how Bellingham, who is one of the few players in Germany to score important goals, could be a problem. People who don’t like him seem to be telling him he should dim his light instead of shining like he has done all his time.

I hope he will believe in himself and find comfort in his family, whose support has helped his short career reach the stars. As someone who interviewed him a few years ago, I saw and heard from a man who is very aware of the ups and downs of sports luck.

He will know how easy it is to blame someone else when England fails to qualify for a major event. A number of big names didn’t play up to their star potential at the Euros. But over the next ten months, we’ll get to see again just how powerful they are.

If they are taking our team to the kind of euphoric heights in big events we thought we’d never reach, criticizing any of them can only hurt us. For Bellingham’s part, he was at Snoop Dogg’s Gin and Juice party last week and hung out with people like Idris Elbow.

He is still a hugely talented young man on the rise. He should never let anyone bring him down.
