Glistening in rich orange, the jersey also has an angular, star-shaped design that, although it feels appropriate considering the extraordinary skill on show, is apparently meant to be a visual allusion to the night sky that twinkles above the Bernabeu on game nights.

Astute observers of Real Madrid’s uniform history may have also noticed that the team’s new away shirt pays homage to the club’s remarkably colorful all-orange third kit from 2013–14, the year the Spanish powerhouses completed La Decima by winning the Champions League/European Cup for the tenth time.
