Fans Laugh as Andre Onana’s Mind Games Backfire in Man Utd’s Penalty Shootout Victory against Arsenal

After witnessing Andre Onana’s attempts at mind games, supporters were left in stitches—one Arsenal player even shushing him.

The first match of Manchester United’s USA tour ended in a 2-1 loss to the Gunners in Los Angeles.

Onana is a likable individual. I’m definitely not trolling 😂😂😂😂

They took the lead moments after Rasmus Hojlund walked off hurt.

With 10 minutes remaining, Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal the victory after Gabriel Jesus had tied the score.

Despite the loss, Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, was pleased with his team’s effort.

They did, however, have the solace of winning the exhibition penalty shootout at the end of the game by a score of 4-3.

Red Devils goaltender Onana was seen attempting to stop Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira and a few of his teammates during the penalty kicks.

The Cameroonian ace moved to his right, then pointed to the vast area to his left, perhaps daring the Portuguese ace to attempt a shot there.

As the ice-cold Vieria walked forwards to take his kick, Onana—one of United’s greatest players against Arsenal—kept throwing his arms in that way.

The United stopper dived in the direction he had been gesturing while the midfielder slotted home in the opposition corner, so his theatrics did not have the anticipated impact.

Soon after, Onana’s footage went viral on social media, sparking conversation among her followers.

“Onana is a likeable human being,” someone wrote. Not even that I’m trolling.

“The player too was good with mind reading,” another person remarked. I adore it.

A third said, “He’ll do well in comedy.”

One fan referred to him as a “funny guy”, while another said he was “too funny”.

“That’s a clown move,” remarked the sixth.

A seventh person said, “Onana played too much Fifa.”

However, Onana made other attempts as well.

Before Gabriel Magalhaes came forward to take Arsenal’s last kick, he had saved Kai Havertz’s to give United the lead.

Onana tried to indicate to the defender where in the goal he should shoot again, but he was hilariously sent the wrong way as he moved in the direction his opponent had directed.

Gabriel then gathered up the ball and pressed his finger to his lips to silence his opponent.

Thankfully, Jadon Sancho stepped up to convert the final attempt, and United went on to win the shootout.

The player Onana took over for David de Gea as the team’s starting goalkeeper is reportedly in talks with a Serie A team and may turn down transfer offers from the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Even though he was awarded the Premier League Golden Glove in his last season, the 33-year-old Spanish goalie left Old Trafford as a free agency last summer after spending 12 years with the team.

On his wedding day in June, the star was famously dismissed by the Red Devils.

The goalkeeper has been connected to several Premier League teams, including Nottingham Forest and Newcastle.

Additionally, he has been “presented with several options, including offers from the United States, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.”

They claim that the latter is the one that is almost certain to occur.

We revealed last week that Genoa had made an offer for De Gea.

According to a recent source, he is now in negotiations to sign a free move to the Serie A team.
