Man Utd player Alejandro Garnacho wears kit that might surprise Ronaldo, leaving fans puzzled

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO’S festive attire selection has generated controversy.

While preparing for the upcoming season, the star player for Manchester United wore an Al-Ittihad shirt, which caused some supporters to worry that it would irritate his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The picture could upset Garnacho's idol Cristiano Ronaldo

Garnacho has publicly expressed his affection for Ronaldo in a number of ways, such as dressing in the star’s underpants on the field and calling himself “Cristiano” when playing bowls with pals.

And in the Portuguese midfielder’s second stint at Old Trafford, he even had the opportunity to share a pitch with Ronaldo six times.

But by sporting an Al-Ittihad shirt while playing for the Saudi Pro League rivals of Ronaldo’s current team, Al-Nassr, Garnacho runs the danger of upsetting his inspiration.

The image of Garnacho sporting the Al-Ittihad colors startled and perplexed supporters, who reacted on social media.

Someone wrote, “His idol plays for Al Nassr, why’s he wearing Al-Ittihad’s jersey?”

“Why not Al Nassr’s jersey to support his idol?” another person said.

Another one cried out, “Embarrassing.”

“Not even wearing his idols shirt!” remarked a fourth.

Before the forthcoming campaign began, Garnacho was working out late and was sporting the shirt.

The 20-year-old was given a lengthy vacation after Argentina’s Copa America victory this summer, and he has yet to reunite with his Man Utd colleagues.

His United teammate Facundo Pellistri, who is also on a postponed summer break after representing Uruguay in the Copa America, joined him for his workout.

Many speculate that Garnacho’s Al-Ittihad photo may be a hint that he is looking to go, and that United manager Erik ten Hag may not be too fond of the player’s wardrobe choices either.

“Bro wants that Saudi move!” one person wrote.

One more person said, “Bro is forcing his way out of Man Utd.”

Garnacho scored ten goals last season across all competitions, including the game-winning goal in United’s FA Cup victory at Wembley over Man City, their neighbors.

Currently on a preseason tour of the United States, Manchester United suffered a 2-1 loss to rivals Arsenal in Los Angeles last week, which put their preparations in disarray.

They finish their tour with a friendly match against Liverpool in South Carolina on Saturday night, after which they play Real Betis in San Diego.

On August 10, Ten Hag’s team will play Man City in the Community Shield at Wembley in the yearly curtain raiser.
