After making his debut, Real Madrid teammates and the coach praised the “brutal” and “special” endrick.
Endrick, a juvenile player for Real Madrid, made his Los Blancos debut against AC Milan in Chicago on Wednesday, and both a teammate and head coach Carlo Ancelotti praised him.
At Soldier Field, the Champions League holders fell to Ancelotti’s old team 1-0, but Endrick and Arda Guler showed uncommon brilliance.
After the loss, Lucas Vazquez spoke kindly of the Brazilian, who had completed a deal from Palmeiras last month that may have cost up to $65 million. Ancelotti had promised the Brazilian minutes.
“To be honest, Endrick looks great. He has performed well in the last three training sessions; he still needs to adjust a bit to our style of play, but he has excelled in difficult circumstances and is off to a fantastic start, according to Vazquez.
Naturally, Endrick is Madrid’s second major summer acquisition following Kylian Mbappe, who joined the team for free from Paris Saint-Germain.
Because “the best have to be at Madrid, of course,” Vazquez described the Frenchman as a “world-class player” who everyone is “looking forward” to playing with.
With seven competitions this season, including the newly-envisioned Club World Cup, Madrid will want as much firepower as possible.
“A season in which we can play 72 games is going to be very demanding,” Vazquez stated.
“I believe that having the opportunity to compete for those seven titles is a huge motivator; we always push ourselves to reach our full potential.
“I am personally content with the [comtract] renewal and that I am now where I intended to be. Personally, I hope to outperform the previous season by playing in more games, scoring more goals, providing more assists, and playing better defense. The former Spain international continued, “You never stop learning in football.
Ancelotti stated that Endrick “has something special” in reference to Endrick.
The manager emphasized that Endrick “combined well” with teammates like Arda Guler and added, “He has a great ability to be very fast in a few meters and that is rare to see a player like that.”
