Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is “addicted” to a new hobby.
Salah has captivated the world since joining the Reds in 2017, winning every award imaginable, including the Premier League and Champions League, while scoring 198 goals in 322 games.
This is hardly surprising, given that the star forward is an elite athlete who is well aware of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s brilliant tactics.
The fact that the Egypt international has taken up an enjoyable and intellectual pastime away from the field demonstrates how much he enjoys tactics.
The 31-year-old revealed that he loves chess and plays “literally every day”.
The ex-Roma star occasionally goes undercover online to play against other people, but leaves glaring hints on his username that hint at his true identity and raise questions from the other participants.
Salah told Sky Sports: “I play chess; I’m addicted to it. Every day, absolutely every day.
“I put my name and some phone numbers on it, so some people ask, ‘Are you Mo Salah’?
I say, ‘Yes.’ They don’t believe me and say, ‘You are lying.’ I say, ‘Yes, I am lying.’
“I’m good; I’m not Magnus [Carlsen], but I’m fine. No one stands a chance against Magnus.”
