Liverpool and Las Palmas drew goalless in their summer’s final preseason friendly at Anfield on Sunday night.

After defeating Sevilla 4-1 earlier in the day, the Reds were held in their second match of the day in L4.

Andy Robertson’s excellent strike against the post from the edge of the area came the closest to giving either side the lead.

However, it was another helpful practice for Arne Slot and his players before competitive action begins, as they were able to get 31 players some game experience ahead of next weekend’s Premier League opening at Ipswich Town across both contests.

Liverpool started their second game of the day at an empty Anfield, behind closed doors, with Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Robertson making their first outings of the summer.

Following a goalless first half, the Reds started to gain momentum and created their first good chance in minute sixteen when Harvey Elliott found Gakpo in the middle of the box with a pass. The Dutch striker maintained possession and fired, but the attempt came too close to Jasper Cillessen.

A minute afterward, Nunez’s attempt was disregarded for being offside when he pushed Ben Doak’s header across the goal line.
