As of recently, Dominik Szoboszlai has become a star player for Liverpool’s first team. Here is everything you need to know about the midfielder and Hungary leader.

After moving to Merseyside in the summer of 2023, the player was brought in by Jurgen Klopp to give his engine room more creativity. Liverpool was interested in Szoboszlai after he offered RB Leipzig 20 goals and 22 assists after moving to Germany from RB Salzburg.

While still young, Szoboszlai joined the Red Bull family of clubs. He had already been practicing his craft at Videoton, Fonix-GOLD, and MTK Budapest in Hungary. His talent also began to shine while he was on loan to Liefering in the Austrian second division in 2017/18. It was there that he really became a star for RB Salzburg.

Marco Rossi also gave Szoboszlai his start with Hungary’s senior team in March 2019, after he had done well for their youth teams. In November 2022, Rossi even made Szoboszlai their leader. At just 22 years old, the playmaker took over as captain of the Magyars from Adam Szalai.

When Szoboszlai became Hungary’s captain, he had already been with RB Leipzig for 22 months. But the midfielder was hurt for the first 224 days of his time in Germany because of a problem with his adductor. But after 91 games with Diҽ Roten Bullen, he moved to Merseyside for £60 million.

Liverpool bought Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig in July 2023 by using an option that let them get the player. When he moved to another team after Naby Keita left Anfield that summer, the Reds gave the midfield master their #8 shirt. They wore #17 for RB Leipzig, and now they wear #10 for Hungary.
