Scott McTominay’s departure from Man United to move to Napoli could lead to many other transfer deals.
A series of reputable sources said that Man United have agreed to sell McTominay to Napoli, while the Scottish international himself has also accepted Napoli’s offer and the Italian team’s project.
Accordingly, Man United pocketed 30 million euros from this deal. That is ‘pure profit’ from PSR’s point of view, because McTominay is a Carrington academy graduate. The Athletic described this sale as “important for the Old Trafford club’s compliance with Premier League and UEFA financial rules”.
That could give the Red Devils a leg up on signing Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain . A report from Uruguayan newspaper El Pais says the deal is ‘almost done’ with the 20-time English champions agreeing to pay €60m (plus add-ons). El Pais reports the Uruguay international will leave the French club for Manchester in the ‘next few hours’.
However, Man United’s transfer business is not over yet. In order to avoid the threat of Financial Fair Play, they are trying to sell Jadon Sancho , to get a large sum of money and a big salary on the books. Remember, no club in world football is willing to pay £40 million transfer fee and Sancho’s current salary, when he is almost zero with the Red Devils.
Sancho’s Man United career seemed to be resurrected after he was reintegrated into the Old Trafford team. However, Sancho’s omission from the squad for the first two matches of the season by Ten Hag has led to questions.
Speculation has been rife over the future of the England star, with Juventus seemingly the frontrunners for Sancho’s signature, although Chelsea have already made a move, while Paris Saint-Germain’s interest has remained muted.
Juventus are only willing to pay part of Sancho’s wages in a loan move, while the Blues are willing to let the two stars go the other way to Old Trafford .
To land Sancho, Juventus are trying to offload Federico Chiesa, the third-highest paid winger in the squad, earning close to £150,000 a week. Chiesa wants to move to Barcelona, but the Spanish giants have yet to decide whether they will go ahead with the deal. However, Chiesa’s departure is crucial for Juventus to make a move for Sancho, having already signed Nicolas Gonzalez and Francisco Conceicao – two wingers who fit the philosophy of new coach Thiago Motta.
Scott McTominay’s departure from Man United has sparked a flurry of deals, and Chiesa’s potential move would make things easier for clubs.
