Here is everything you need to know about Darwin Nunez, the Uruguayan forward who is one of Liverpool’s most important players and could become their most expensive deal ever.

The winger came to Liverpool from SL Benfica in June 2022 as Jurgen Klopp tried to get a striker who would score a lot of goals. Clubs were on high alert last season when Nunez scored 34 goals in just 41 games. He scored both at home and away in the Champions League against Liverpool.

Six of Nunez’s goals that season came in UEFA’s top club tournament. Two of those goals came against Liverpool in the quarterfinals. So, the Anfield team agreed to a £64 million deal for Nunez. With add-ons, the deal could even become Liverpool’s most expensive ever at £85 million.

 

Nunez has also become a fan favorite at Anfield since moving to Liverpool, even though his results aren’t always reliable. The attacker can make things very chaotic in and around the area. Nunez has a hard time hitting a barn door when he’s not causing trouble.
