Rodrygo Goes didn’t hold back when he said he was surprised that he wasn’t one of the 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or, even though he had a great season with Real Madrid in 2023–24. Because of this, he went to his Instagram account to say how upset he was about what was happening.

 

Real Madrid has a lot of players who are up for the Ballon d’Or in 2024. After a successful 2023–24 season in which they won LaLiga EA Sports, the Spanish Super Cup, and the Champions League, six of their players made the list. If you count Kylian Mbappé, who also plays for Paris Saint-Germain, that number goes up to seven: Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, Dani Carvajal, Toni Kroos, Antonio Rüdiger, and Federico Valverde. This makes the Chamartín team one of the teams with the most players in this list.

Rodrygo Goes is missing from this list, though, which is strange. The Osasco player wasn’t named one of the top 30 footballers of the past season, even though he was an important part of the white team’s offense in the 2023–24 season, scoring 17 goals and setting up nine others in 51 games. The former Santos player then took to social media to say how unhappy he was with this.

When the Merengue player with the number 11 shirt found out he wasn’t on the list, he posted a story on Instagram with a collage of six photos of himself: three of him holding the trophies he won this season with Real Madrid (La Liga, Spanish Super Cup, and Champions League), and three of him in important moments of the season when he made a big difference, like when he played Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the knockout stages of the Champions League. This post had an emoji that showed he was confused and another that showed he was laughing so hard he was crying.
