Wayne Rooney is relocating to England with his family, where they will settle into the £20 million “Morrisons mansion.” This impressive property includes a swimming pool, two fishing lakes, a full-sized football pitch, and a movie theater.
The former Manchester United and England star has also been announced as the new manager of Birmingham City, stepping in for John Eustace, who was recently dismissed from his position at St Andrews.
It is believed that Wayne Rooney invested over £4 million to have the gated residence built by a Cheshire property developer.
While Rooney’s wife Coleen and their four sons—Kai, Klay, Kit, and Cass—remained in England, Rooney himself relocated to Washington with his coaching team. However, once he returns to live with his family full-time at their luxurious Cheshire estate, he will have the full support of his loved ones following his appointment with the Tom Brady-backed Blues.
At 37 years old, Rooney and his wife Coleen have accumulated an extensive property portfolio, including homes in Florida, the Caribbean, and the UK. Their most prized asset is their lavish six-bedroom £20 million residence, set on a 40-acre estate.
The family moved into their newly renovated home, known as High Lake Manor, in December 2021. The estate is reportedly located in Cheshire.
In a somewhat grandiose manner, Rooney and Coleen might even refer to themselves as the lord and lady of the manor. During the construction phase, it was noted that Rooney had a full-sized football pitch installed, complete with a seating area for spectators. The pitch also includes showers for friends’ use, though floodlights could not be added due to the mansion’s remote location.
Wayne Rooney is known for his passion for fishing.
Neighbors had previously mocked the house for its size and design, likening it to a Morrisons supermarket. However, the mansion has since been transformed into something far more luxurious, featuring a wine cellar, a TV lounge, a snooker room, a bar, and an orangery.
The lavish home also includes separate “his” and “hers” changing rooms, a steam room, a hot tub, and a large indoor swimming pool housed within a glass pavilion. Additionally, the property boasts a spacious terrace, meticulously landscaped grounds, and an impressive luxury car garage.
It is believed that Rooney paid nearly £4 million to a Cheshire property developer to build this grand residence, which also includes separate elevators and a guest bathroom. The main living area and the basement, which features a substantial gym, pool, Jacuzzi, and movie theater, are connected by a second elevator.
