Zidane recalls ‘peak’ moments with Real

Coach Zinadine Zidane has had emotional reminiscences about his former team Real Madrid both as a player and coach.

In the history of Real Madrid, Zinadine Zidane can be considered the most successful person both as a player and as a coach of the team. The French legend is not only considered one of the greatest players of Los Blancos, but he is also on par with the legends of world football.

In a recent interview with Madrix Xtra, Zidane had emotional reminiscences of his time working at the Royal team. Zizou could not hide his admiration for the Santiago Bernabeu, the legendary and sacred stadium of the team.

Zidane shared: “Bernabeu is the pinnacle. For me, Bernabeu is number one. The people, the stadium, everything, the history of the team, everything is the best.”

In addition, the 52-year-old former player also recalled one of the iconic moments of the Champions League. That was the beautiful volley against Leverkusen in the 2002 final, thereby bringing the “elephant ear” trophy to the Royal team. Up to this point, this is still considered the most beautiful goal in the history of the tournament.

Talking about this “lifetime” goal, Zidane excitedly said: “In my opinion, the most beautiful and important goal was the goal against Leverkusen. We needed that goal to win the Champions League.”
