The attacking lineup featuring Rashford, Antony, and Garnacho delivered an explosive performance, as MU crushed lower-league Barnsley 7-0 in the third round of the English League Cup.

Manchester United hosted Barnsley at Old Trafford, within the framework of the third round of the 2024/25 Carabao Cup. The match ended with a resounding 7-0 victory in favor of Manchester United, when the home players demonstrated an overwhelming attacking style of play and scored many beautiful goals.

The opening goal came in the 16th minute, when Marcus Rashford coolly finished off Alejandro Garnacho’s precise pass to give Manchester United a 1-0 lead. In the 35th minute, Antony made it 2-0 with a precise penalty kick, which went into the right corner of the goal.

 

 

Before the first half ended, Alejandro Garnacho continued to shine with the third goal, after Rashford’s assist, helping the home team lead 3-0.

 

 

In the second half, Manchester United maintained their attacking tempo. In the 49th minute, Garnacho completed his double after a delicate pass from Christian Eriksen, raising the score to 4-0. In the 58th minute, Marcus Rashford scored the 5th goal for Manchester United after a smooth combination with Garnacho.

Christian Eriksen continued to leave his mark with a double of his own in the 81st and 85th minutes, sealing a 7-0 victory for Manchester United.
