The 2024–25 Champions League will be played in a totally different way. Each team will play four home games and four away games against different teams. So, when teams play at home, they need to make the most of the chances they have, and AC Milan knows that. When AC Milan came home for the game, they changed their shape to be more offҽnsivҽ, and they quickly made the away team’s goal vulnerable.

When goalkeeper Maignan took a free kick in the third minute, the home team’s a𝔱𝔱ack was well-organized. Pulisic ran up the right side of the center and then cleverly finished on the right side of the penalty area, sending the ball diagonally past Alisson to open the scoring.

After giving up an early goal, Liverpool went on the a𝔱𝔱ack to try to tie the game. Over time, the away team had better control of the ball than the home team and got closer to Maignan’s goal. In the 17th minute, Salah sent a shot at the other team that Maignan couldn’t block, but it hit the post and went out.

When the efforts weren’t working, Liverpool found different ways to score goals, while the away team made the most of set pieces. In the 23rd minute, Konate took the free kick and headed the ball close to the goal from a good position to tie the game at 1-1.

Coach Fonseca’s team had a hard time defending against the guests’ strong a𝔱𝔱ack after losing the lead. Maignan’s goal was always in dangҽr. The AC Milan players kept messing up set pieces in the 41st minute. This time, Van Dijk headed in a corner kick to make the score 2-1 for Liverpool.

Since Liverpool had the lead going into the second half, they decided to play defensive counterattacks. Because the other team played so tight, AC Milan’s attacks didn’t work, and the home team didn’t even hit the other team’s goal for a long time. Liverpool made sure they won when they scored the third goal in the 67th minute. Szoboszlai quickly finished Gakpo’s cross, and the ball went into the net.

AC Milan tried to get back into the game in the second half, but their best chance came in extra time, when Leao’s shot hit Alisson’s goal frame and bounced out. AC Milan lost 1-3 at home in San Siro (Italy) because they couldn’t score.
