Joshua Kimmich is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League this summer. The 29-year-old is part of Germany’s EURO 2024 squad and has just 12 months left on his contract with Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are also open to offers for Kimmich, knowing that he will not renew his contract.

“In general, my situation is very clear, I still have a contract. For me, showing my performance is the most important thing. And then we will see what happens. I still have more than a year of contract and no one has talked to me. I feel very comfortable. It’s not so bad here,” Kimmich said in early March.

While Manchester United are struggling to reach an agreement with the German international, Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to join the fierce race.

According to German media, Arsenal and Liverpool are among five clubs monitoring Kimmich this summer. Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been mentioned, while Manchester City are also on the list. In fact, the reigning Premier League champions have long been interested in the 29-year-old.

In March, reports claimed that Kimmich wanted to move to the Premier League but would not be interested in Man United or Chelsea. However, there is also the possibility that the German midfielder will stay at the Allianz Arena for another year.

Concerns over Thomas Tuchel have prompted Kimmich to want to leave, but plans have changed somewhat since the German left the Allianz Arena. Kimmich could decide to play out the final year of his contract before leaving on a free next summer.

Kimmich joined Bayern in 2015, when Pep Guardiola was still the club’s coach. The 29-year-old has played more than 250 Bundesliga games for the Bavarians and has made nearly 400 appearances in all competitions, most notably in the 2020 Champions League final when Bayern beat Paris St Germain.

As a versatile player – able to play at right-back or in central midfield – it is understandable that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Kimmich. For the Gunners, Thomas Partey has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, while Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold remains on Real Madrid’s radar.

Kimmich has made a total of 89 appearances for the German national team, including three group stage matches at EURO 2024. Bayern are expected to open talks about Kimmich’s future after the European Championship ends.
