On Thursday, Ja Morant of the Grizzlies followed in Stephen Curry’s footsteps with his remarks on X

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant did not participate in the 2028 Olympics, but he is widely considered a strong contender for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, California.

Despite not playing, Grizzlies guard Ja Morant was closely following the action on Thursday as Team USA made a strong comeback to defeat Team Serbia in the second half of their semifinal clash. Morant shared his candid reaction while watching Stephen Curry, known as ‘Chef Curry,’ lead the U.S. to a crucial late-game victory.

Like fans across the country, Morant was riding the excitement of Team USA’s performance, particularly Curry’s brilliant second half. He expressed his thoughts on X, and his comments have since gone viral.

Morant kept it brief but impactful on X, previously known as Twitter. Speaking as a fan, he reacted to Team USA’s comeback against Team Serbia and Nikola Jokic, noting the pivotal moment. While Coach Steve Kerr’s lineup choices have faced heavy criticism, this time, he made the right call, something Morant acknowledged.

United States guard LeBron James (6) and shooting guard Stephen Curry (4) celebrate after the game against Serbia in a men's basketball semifinal game during the Paris 2024 Olympic Summer Games at Accor Arena.

“I wasn’t taking Steph out,” Morant remarked, adding a laughing and crying emoji.

Team USA wound up winning by a score of 95-91 as they battled back and eventually passed the Serbian team.

Team USA is scheduled to face France at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 10. With a star-studded lineup featuring players like Stephen Curry, LeBron James, and Victor Wembanyama for Team France, expect Grizzlies icon Ja Morant, Draymond Green, and other notable players to be actively sharing their thoughts and reactions on X.
