‘Don’t let Man Utd ruin your career!’ – Matthijs de Ligt was spotted at the gym wearing a Bayern jersey

This summer, De Ligt has been heavily linked to a transfer to Manchester United, with reports suggesting that the Red Devils have made two bids for both right-back Noussair Mazraoui and the Netherlands international.

However, it seems that the center-back is not nearing a move to Old Trafford, as he has resumed training with the Bavarian giants ahead of the new season. Fans urged De Ligt to remain in Germany after he posted a collage of his workouts on Instagram.

“Don’t leave Bayern and waste your career at Mun (sic),” wrote @im_ayushsingh.

@boenebehm added, “Please, be my man. We adore you here.”

@omar.m7 chimed in with, “Mia san mia forever. Stay with us.”

“Stay at Bayern and become a legend here,” urged @_no_front.

Alongside various pleas for De Ligt to remain, @esmueldert stated, “We need you, leader.”

With a contract lasting until 2027, De Ligt has been with Bayern since 2022, so the club isn’t under significant pressure to sell.

However, they appear to be preparing for the possibility, as they have sought to sign Jonathan Tah as a potential replacement.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, who recently lost Leny Yoro to injury after his debut in a preseason friendly, will be looking to add a new defender soon. Whether De Ligt will be that defender remains uncertain.
