Latest MU transfer news 24 hours: Gareth Southgate confirmed to lead Man Utd; Manchester United sells Sancho outright; Ben Chilwell in Man United’s sights.
Gareth Southgate wants to lead Man Utd
The race to sign former England manager Gareth Southgate is heating up. While Everton have also expressed interest, Manchester United have emerged as the favourites, holding a huge advantage in recruiting the English strategist.
GIVEMESPORT exclusively reported that Southgate has seemingly “ignored” other offers and is patiently waiting for the opportunity to lead the Red Devils. Currently, Erik ten Hag’s seat at Old Trafford is shaking violently after a series of bad matches since the beginning of the season. In case Man Utd decide to change generals, coach Southgate is ready to seize the opportunity immediately.
Manchester United sell Sancho to Chelsea
After a promising start at Chelsea, Jadon Sancho seems to have regained his top form. The English winger has been impressive and has adapted well to the Blues’ style of play. This has pleased Chelsea’s board and they are seriously considering activating the clause to buy Sancho outright.
As for Man Utd, they are also open to selling Sancho outright. The “Red Devils” are said to want to recoup their investment after spending £73 million to bring him from Dortmund in 2021. Currently, the price that Man Utd wants for Sancho is around £20-25 million.
However, there are still some obstacles to this deal. Firstly, Chelsea will have to spend a large sum of money to buy Sancho outright, in the context that they are facing the regulations of the Financial Fair Play Law. Secondly, Man Utd may want to keep Sancho to strengthen the squad, especially when he is gradually regaining his form.
However, if Chelsea is really determined and makes an attractive enough offer, Man Utd can completely agree to sell Sancho outright.
Ben Chilwell is on Man United’s radar
Defender Ben Chilwell’s future at Chelsea is in big question as he is no longer in coach Enzo Maresca’s plans. According to Todo Fichajes, Man United are ready to “rescue” the England international in the upcoming winter transfer window. Chilwell is having a difficult time at Stamford Bridge. From a mainstay, he has been pushed down to third choice left-back, behind Marc Cucurella and Renato Veiga. Coach Maresca even publicly advised Chilwell to leave to play more regularly.
