According to Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias, Arsenal will soon make transfer moves with Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres.

Jornal de Noticias says Arsenal  have been impressed with scouting reports about Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres and expect an offer in the summer transfer window.

However, the Portuguese club wants partners to pay the exact amount of the 100 million euro release clause for Gyokeres ‘ signature  and they are not willing to negotiate or lower the transfer fee .

Gyokeres is high on Arsenal’s list of priorities as they look to strengthen their attack in the summer. This season, the Swedish striker has pocketed 36 goals and 14 assists in 43 matches. Arsenal needs a quality number 9 to compete more strongly for the title race and Gyokeres fits that criteria.

His passing, dribbling and shooting abilities are strengths that Arsenal can consider.

Of course, if Gyokeres goes to Arsenal, he will part ways with some players. First of all, there is Eddie Nketiah, who often sits on the bench this season. Even Gabriel Jesus can be pushed away.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported that Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus all want Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande.

Sporting Lisbon signed Diomande for 7.5 million euros in January 2023 from FC Midtjylland. It was a successful deal for the Portuguese club, as the 20-year-old has had impressive performances since then. It is quite understandable that Diomande is interested in many clubs, despite the fact that he has a release clause of 80 million euros. This is a significant profit that Sporting is aiming for.

Competition for Diomande is increasingly fierce. Chelsea  is said to have the upper hand in the race to sign the Russian Coast star, ahead of Arsenal, Juventus or Newcastle United. The Blues are said to have contacted the player’s representatives and are ready to meet Sporting’s asking price of 60 million euros, potentially up to 80 million euros with bonuses.

Anyway, Chelsea’s current financial situation is unstable. They are forced to sell players before buying. And this could open up opportunities for Arsenal, if they are willing to spend like the Blues . The Gunners need a quality backup plan for William Saliba, and Diomande is the ideal name.
