Yamal is now at the same level as Mbappe, Vinicius

Talking on Vermouth Deportivo, former player Rivaldo had many compliments for Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal.

Yamal has been making great breakthroughs in his career for over a year. In the 2023/24 season, although only 16 years old, the Spanish player has become a key pillar in the Barca squad under coach Xavi.

The 2007-born youngster played 47 matches in all competitions, scored 5 goals and had 7 assists. Continuing his rise, Yamal had a very successful EURO 2024 in Germany in the jersey of the Spanish national team when he and Luis de la Fuente won the tournament, and the product of La Masia was awarded the title of “Best Young Player”.

Entering this season, Yamal is still maintaining his explosive form under the guidance of coach Hans-Dieter Flick, scoring 5 goals and providing 5 assists after 10 matches in all competitions, contributing significantly to helping Blaugrana lead the La Liga rankings.

“Yamal is a great player, I admire him for his strong personality despite his young age. He has reached a very high level, I think he is on par with Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe. I also think Yamal will go far in the future. He always enjoys football, he will be a differentiator,” said Rivaldo.

Besides Yamal, coach Flick is another name that is making an impression at the Camp Nou team. The German coach, despite not having a big summer shopping spree and facing injuries to many key players, has still helped his team fly high in the La Liga rankings. However, the 59-year-old strategist received a strong message from Rivaldo.

 

 

 

“Barca is a big team that always focuses on results. Flick is doing well but still has a lot to prove. The team always wants to win the Champions League, La Liga or other cups,” Rivaldo added.
