Erik ten Hag’s future: Will the Dutchman be fired after his match vs Man United?

Though the Dutchman received a one-year contract extension in the summer, his place in the dugout has never been considered certain.

In the first Premier League match of the new season, a tumultuous 1-0 victory over Fulham did not provide Ten Hag with the momentum he needed to save his future.

 

The Red Devils have only triumphed over Southampton and Barnsley in the nine games across all competitions that have come after.

Before the October international break, Ten Hag needed to avoid losses at Porto and Aston Villa, which they did by drawing 0-0 and 3-3, respectively.

Ten Hag, however, was left to consider his future after a discussion involving important players behind the scenes on Tuesday, even though he remained obstinate throughout.The executive committee met regularly, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe presiding over the deliberations, thus the meeting was nothing unusual.

It was held at INOES’s London offices, with sporting director Dan Ashworth and chief executive Omar Berrada in attendance, according to The Guardian.
