Paris – Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni will captain France in the Nations League game against Israel in the absence of Kylian Mbappé, the French football federation said on Wednesday.

Tchouaméni has made 36 appearances for France and will bring his experience to a team that is missing its biggest star.

Mbappé, France’s regular captain, is recovering from a minor thigh injury in Madrid.
