Manchester United center-back Lisandro Martinez has announced that he and his partner Muri Lopez Benitez are expecting their first child.

In a joyful Instagram post, the couple shared a photo of themselves holding their baby’s scan.

The picture was accompanied by a heartfelt message from the Argentine player, expressing his excitement.

The couple even signed-off their social post with a message from their pet dog

In an Instagram post, the couple shared pictures of their first baby scan.

The message concluded with a note that their dog was also excited to welcome their first child.

“And of course, the little dog with the purest heart in the world is eagerly waiting for you too!”

Reports say Martinez and Muri Lopez Benitez are childhood sweethearts

Several United teammates, including Joshua Zirkzee, Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, Manuel Ugarte, and Kobie Mainoo, left congratulatory comments for the expecting couple.

“Congratulations, bro,” Alejandro Garnacho wrote, accompanied by a love-heart emoji, while Joshua Zirkzee and Kobie Mainoo expressed similar sentiments.

Reports from the Netherlands indicate that Martinez and Benitez Lopez have been childhood sweethearts, having grown up together in Guayaquil, Argentina.

The 26-year-old made the switch to Manchester United from Ajax for a reported transfer fee between £47 million and £49 million, along with an additional £8.5 million in add-ons.
