David Beckham bought a $500,000 (£383,502) car for his son Brooklyn following his eldest child’s wedding to Nicola Peltz on Saturday, April 9.
While this may seem extravagant, Beckham’s half-million-dollar gift comes after Brooklyn’s £3 million Florida wedding and can be seen as the Beckham family’s version of the typical £50 M&S voucher that most parents give their children after marriage.
David Beckham provided essential support to the car restoration company Lunaz, in which he holds a 10% investment, by using one of their historic vehicles ahead of his son Brooklyn’s wedding in Miami.
During Beckham’s outing on Saturday, the distinctive Lunaz emblem was prominently displayed on the rear of the car.
Here it is: Brooklyn and his bride, American actress Nicola Peltz, later drove the electrified and re-engineered 1954 Jaguar XK140, which cost $500,000 (£383,502).
Involved in the business, the savvy Beckham is an investor in the UK-based restoration firm Lunaz, having purchased a 10% stake in the company in June 2021.
Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, were seen in new images driving around at the Transformers actor’s parents’ £71 million Palm Beach house on Sunday morning.
David enlisted the services of Lunaz, a restoration company in which he owns a 10% stake, to restore the flashy car.
Brooklyn and Nicola’s new ride required thousands of hours of work and was built in-house at Lunaz’s Silverstone garage.
A team of 120 people worked on the project, and David requested that the finished vehicle be painted a light blue. However, as MailOnline reports, he preferred to keep the unique color name confidential.
