In route from Sweden back to Spain, Kylian Mbappé made an additional stop.

There are several questions over Kylian Mbappé’s journey to Sweden. According to Corse-Matin, he visited the French island of Corsica prior to his return to Spain.

Even though Mbappé started Real Madrid’s last game before the international break against Villarreal, Didier Deschamps did not include him in the current France team. Les Bleus’ captain was not chosen, as both Deschamps and FFF president Philippe Diallo have reiterated, but rather the choice was made as a precaution and in association with the player. Only right before the international break did Mbappé get well from a thigh ailment.

 

 

 

Before his travel to Stockholm, which fell on the same day as France’s match versus Israel in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday, his absence from the game was controversial. Based on reports from local media, he visited a restaurant and a nightclub while in the Swedish city. Yet according to Corse-Matin, he made a detour in Corsica before returning to Madrid to continue getting ready for the start of club football again.

He ate at a restaurant in Bastelicaccia while he was visiting the French island. He went in through the kitchen, sat in a secluded nook, and left after the other clients so as not to be noticed. Before boarding his flight back to the Spanish capital, he spent the night in Ajaccio.
