Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr. have been valued at $220 million each by Transfermarkt, making them the most valuable players in football history

Other players with high valuations are Neymar and Lionel Messi, who were each assessed at $200 million in 2018. Messi, 30, and Neymar, 25, were at the height of their professional lives at the time. Messi’s market value is currently at about $25 million, whereas Neymar’s is $30 million.

When he was still a Real Madrid player in January 2018, Cristiano Ronaldo’s highest valuation was $130 million. Ronaldo became enraged when his value dropped to $80 million in early 2020. He accused Transfermarkt of undervaluing him and blocked the website as a result.

Real Madrid players Jude Bellingham and Mbappe, who are both estimated to be worth close to $200 million, are presently the second-most valuable players, according to Transfermarkt.

In less than a year, Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal—who won Euro 2024 at the age of 17—saw a sharp increase in his market worth from $27 million to $165 million, positioning him as the third-most expensive player globally. The same is true of Phil Foden, who was voted the greatest player in the Premier League the previous campaign.

“This season, Vinicius has been in excellent form. He is a leader and a game-changer for Real Madrid, together with Valverde. Mbappe and Bellingham, meantime, have displayed indications of deterioration “Transfermarkt analyst Tobias Blaseio said on the market prices of La Liga.

Last season, Vinicius Jr. had a remarkable campaign as Real Madrid won the Champions League, La Liga, Spanish Super Cup, and European Super Cup with his 24 goals and 11 assists in 39 games.
