Manchester United secured a 2-1 victory over Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, ending a five-match losing streak across all competitions.
Ethan Pinnock’s goal left the Red Devils trailing at halftime, but Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund struck back to ignite a remarkable comeback.
Manager Erik ten Hag started Marcus Rashford on the right wing, and he produced the game-winning equalizer in the 47th minute with a gorgeous cross.
Given his willingness to make rare crosses into the box from the left wing, we believe Rashford should stay in the same position.
Rashford often prefers to cut inside from the left to attempt shots on goal, and in his first seven league matches this season, he recorded four successful crosses. Conversely, he delivered a couple of effective crosses during his debut on the right wing, one of which set up Garnacho for a volleyed goal.
Although the 26-year-old has rarely played on the right side of United’s attack, his performance yesterday indicates that he should remain in that position moving forward.
