Chelsea should have been awarded a penalty in the match against Liverpool when Jadon Sancho was fouled by Trent-Alexander-Arnold.

In the 22nd minute, Jadon Sancho dribbled into Liverpool’s penalty area.

Sancho was fiercely blocked by Alexander-Arnold and then fell down. The referee said no to a penalty for Chelsea.

Looking closely at the slow-motion replay, Alexander-Arnold stepped on Sancho’s foot. VAR also checked the incident. But the referee’s decision not to award a penalty was not changed.

Overall, Liverpool played better than Chelsea and deserved to win. Defeating Chelsea, Liverpool solidified their top spot on the table. The Blues dropped to sixth place.
