Toni Kroos appeared αɳxious as Real Madrid fell behind 2-0 to Dortmund
Kroos doesn’t care about the chance to play with Mbappe
Sharing about his decision to retire, midfielder Toni Kroos confirmed that he knew Kylian Mbappe would join Real Madrid, but this did not affect him.
“My decision does not depend on any player joining or leaving” – the German midfielder recently shared on Marca, when asked about the possibility of returning to the field to play with Kylian Mbappe.
“It was my decision. I knew Mbappe was coming and I was very happy about it, he would help Real Madrid a lot. Mbappe could have joined the club 2 years ago, he is here now, but anyway, Mbappe did not affect my decision to retire”
– Toni Kroos affirmed.
In a decade playing for Real Madrid, Toni Kroos won 23 titles, including 5 Champions League titles. He officially announced his retirement this past summer, ending a glittering career as one of the best midfielders in history.
Kroos also spoke about coach Carlo Ancelotti’s reaction: “I know he won’t be angry with this decision, but he’s a bit sad. For me, it’s not easy. Carlo was my first coach at Real Madrid and it’s not easy to share this decision with him. After all, everything in life has an end.
After 10 years playing for the club, everyone knows my character. They know that if I’ve made a decision and thought it through, nothing can change it. Carlo knows that and he respected my decision.”
Along with that, the former midfielder born in 1990 also expressed his satisfaction that the number 8 shirt has a new owner, midfielder Federico Valverde.
