Thibaut Courtois will be sidelined for at least three of Real Madrid’s forthcoming games, including El Clásico, due to a thigh injury sustained against Borussia Dortmund. The club’s injury declaration the next day tarnished Real Madrid’s exciting Champions League comeback victory of 5–2 over Dortmund. After the game, Courtois, who made a number of valiant saves to keep Carlo Ancelotti’s team in the game, had tests done on his left thigh.

“Our player Thibaut Courtois has been diagnosed with a left adductor injury after tests conducted by Real Madrid Medical Services. Real Madrid announced in a statement that they will keep an eye on his improvement.

Prior to the October international break, Courtois had to miss Real Madrid’s games against Lille and Villarreal due to a similar thigh injury he suffered during the Madrid derby on September 29. The goalie was forced to return to the sidelines after just two games.
