DISAPPOINTING DRAW: Eriksen scores first, MU still has not tasted victory in this season’s Europa League

MU traveled to Türkiye to face Fenerbahce of former player Jose Mourinho. In the context of having to win, the “Red Devils” played a hard match.

MU met many old players from Fenerbahce. That was coach Jose Mourinho, midfielders Fred, Amrabat, not to mention many “Red Devils” players who had faced each other in the past such as Tadic, Saint-Maximin or En-Nesyri. Because of a certain understanding, the two teams entered the match cautiously.

With better personnel, MU got what they needed in the early stages of the match. A lightning-fast and effective counter-attack put coach Erik Ten Hag’s team ahead in the 15th minute.

Zirkzee assisted Eriksen to take an extremely dangerous shot from the second line, defeating goalkeeper Livakovic.

After that, MU created good opportunities but Rashford and Garnacho could not take advantage. Moreover, at the beginning of the second half, the “Red Devils” goal was also penetrated. In the 49th minute, Saint-Maximin crossed the ball extremely well for En-Nesyri. The Moroccan player made a dangerous header, helping Fenerbahce equalize.

There was still plenty of time left but both teams played with a fear of losing so there weren’t many chances created. In the end, the match ended without either side winning. With a draw against Fenerbahce, MU has yet to taste victory in the Europa League this season.
